Twerk It Like Your Worth It

Twerking Takes Over Google

A short time ago, if we wanted information for a project or paper, we would have to resort to encyclopedias, newspaper archives, books, and a myriad of other sources to obtain the appropriate facts and knowledge required to really understand what it is we were working on or wished to know more about.   If we had a question, we would ask our teachers, parents, and grandparents.   We went to museums and seminars, watched documentaries, the history channel, news, anything to gain a better grasp on what it was we either wondered about or needed to know.   Today, we live in an age where information is available at our fingertips and takes mere seconds to find what it is we are interested in.   Google was the first to change the Internet in 1998 with their groundbreaking algorithms, and made it that much more simple for us to find the presumably best source for what it is we are searching for.   Not only that, but the developers now track the most searched items to better refine users online experience, which is precisely what those algorithms are designed to do.
Popularly referred to today as "trending" topics, every major search engine is doing it!

There are wars, international terrorism, leaders being overthrown, riots, issues of equality and inequality, child slavery, places where there isn't any running water (and the water available is stagnant and full of diseases such as malaria, or Ecoli bacteria).    For goodness sake the United States is currently under the leadership of the very first President of African decent with bipartisanship infecting our own country's political state of affairs so much so that recently we suffered a government shutdown!   So, I raise the question...What do you think was the number one searched topic on Google for 2013?   Are you ready for it?  (You might want to sit down for this one).... Miley Cyrus comes in at #1 by a LANDSLIDE!!!.... Virtually hitting the internet like a wrecking ball with twerking written all over it!!!

Now, there were other searches including, the aforementioned shut down, coming in second to the face licking "molly" advocate, however, according to Google, the top ten searches were done so in between such search items as "What is Twerking?" or "How do you Twerk?" and "Where does Twerking come from?".   What does that say about people? With everything going on around us in need of change, or worthy of further investigation, most online users are statistically proven to be more interested in the former Disney child star turned wild, mildly talented, daughter of one hit wonder Billy Ray and his Achy Breaky Heart, and how to Twerk it like your Worth it!?   Are we SERIOUS????

For those of you who are wondering about the use of the term Molly Advocate, here is some information to become better informed....

What Is MDMA (Ecstasy or Molly)?

""Ecstasy” and "Molly" are slang terms for MDMA, short for 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine, a name that’s nearly as long as the all-night parties where MDMA is often used. That's why MDMA has been called a “club drug.” It has effects similar to those of other stimulants, and it often makes the person feel like everyone is his or her friend, even when that’s not the case.
MDMA is man-made—it doesn't come from a plant like marijuana or tobacco do. Other chemicals or substances—such as caffeine, dextromethorphan (found in some cough syrups), amphetamines, PCP, or cocaine—are sometimes added to, or substituted for, MDMA in Ecstasy or Molly tablets. Makers of MDMA can add anything they want to the drug, so its purity is always in question."
